LOCATION
Umag – town and a port on the northwestern coast of Istria, is the first nautical entry into Croatia from central Europe, only 40 kilometers from Trieste and 50 nautical miles from Venice. The town dates back to ancient times and is situated in the attractive bay where is also ACI marina Umag that for the past 14 years has proudly flown the Blue flag, a guarantee of clean sea and superior equipment. In 2000 ACI marina Umag was pronounced the best marina on the Croatian side of the Adriatic.
Since the vicinity of Umag is the home to some of the best Croatian wines, which tend to be accompanied by superior gastronomy. Umag is also considered the sports capital of Istria, thanks to the exceptional tradition of sports and recreational tourism. Visitors can engage in a number of sports activities, such as golfing, tennis, cycling, sailing, windsurfing, diving, hiking and caving.

The event will be held in ACI marina Umag. The marina perfectly offers the entire infrastructure necessary for regatta organization.
Boat parking – There is a waste area for boat handling, with several fresh water connectors for washing the boats. Near the area is a large car and trailer parking. The slip is big and wide enough to avoid slowdowns while entering the boats in the water.
Measurement facilities – will be in a large tent raised up near the boat parking in way to accelerate the measurement process.
For all the eventual breakages and failure to be repaired there is a Boat service near the boat parking area.
In the marina there is also a restaurant and a bar for refreshments and food.
Weather forecast info’s and currency exchange can be obtained at the marina reception, so as the telephone and fax access. The internet is a free WLAN that covers the entire marina area.
RACING AREA
Umag bay is a very nice sailing area, hosting several regattas during the year. In month of September it can still be expected daily thermal winds from W or NW called Mistral that usually blows 10 to 16 kts. If the weather is dry it can be expected some Bura or Tramontana from E or NE that in this area blows more from the coats. It usually blows 15-25 kts. The area is also attractive for sailing with S and SW winds that bring warm air and big long waves, perfect for downwind planning. It usually comes with cloudy weather.
